#MicroblogMondays: Odds & ends

  • It seems I am inwards 1 of those blogging lulls that rears its caput every forthwith & then, where my hear is equally blank equally the concealment inwards front end of me together with zippo (or really little) comes to hear to write about, ALI-related or otherwise. I haven't finished whatsoever books lately to review. I couldn't fifty-fifty muster upwardly an 8-line #MicroblogMondays postal service terminal week. :( Thankfully, these lulls accept never lasted also long inwards the past. (In almost 10 years of blogging, there's never been a calendar month when I haven't posted at to the lowest degree once;  I intend ii or 3 posts inwards 1 calendar month would live my lowest point.) I trust that this lull volition also end, eventually. ;)

  • Yet some other somebody I know & dear has been diagnosed amongst pectus cancer. :(  Her prognosis is good, simply still... It's getting scary how many women I know who accept fought this battle over the by pair of years. Fuck cancer. :p 
  • Over Father's Day weekend, nosotros went to see FIL, together with I called my ain dad. There were no movies dh wanted to meet on Dominicus (our green selection of avoidance action on these occasions), together with he didn't accept whatsoever other ideas close how he wanted to pass the day, thus I suggested a piffling route trip to see Katie. :)  We drove to the cemetery -- which was really busy, simply non inwards the department where she is, thankfully. Then nosotros went for luncheon to a piffling cafe nosotros used to frequent when nosotros lived inwards the expanse (they brand bully chicken caesar wraps), together with and then to our quondam favourite haunt, the local mega-bookstore. :)  And together with then habitation again. 
  • And there... a  post! ;)  (When inwards doubt, try bullet points, lol.)  So much for blogger's block...! ;)
  • ETA:  And, bonus!  Apparently this is postal service #1,200!! Yikes!!

    Anniversary getaway: Niagara-on-the-Lake

    Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario:  clock/cenotaph in addition to courtroom solid (now a theatre).     #MicroblogMondays: Hey 19...

    I was never a huge Steely Dan fan, but ane of their quondam songs (" Hey Nineteen ") has been going through my caput today -- because it was 19 years agone that I delivered my sugariness still babe girl. :(   The lyrics aren't just appropriate to the occasion -- they're virtually an older human being trying to resist the charms of a much younger immature lady (!) -- but there's ane business that keeps echoing inwards my head:  "I'm just growing old...."  (The fact that I know who Steely Dan is would attest to that, I suppose -- nevermind that my immature lady could endure 19 years old...!) We just got dorsum from visiting my parents terminal night, as well as I am nevertheless inwards that post-vacation fog. Plus Aunt Flo showed upward after a 69-day recess (progress??!) -- therefore I was already tired as well as crabby, nevermind having to bargain amongst today as well as its significance. Then BIL picked us upward at the aerodrome terminal ...

    #MicroblogMondays: Watching The Handmaid's Tale

    Like many of you, I'm sure, I've been watching the novel tv set serial " here ). In the U.S., it's beingness shown on Hulu , which nosotros don't larn hither inwards Canada -- but it is beingness shown hither on the Bravo channel, which I exercise larn every bit business office of my cable TV package.
